Season 8 kinda felt like a rehash of the Trinity Killer. They completely destroyed what made Dexter Dexter in season 8

I don't think they destroyed him. They showed us who Dexter really is. Dexter is no normal serial-killer, because he has feelings. They explored that this last season and I think they ended it in the best possible light.

It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash.

Deb dying happened as poorly as they could have handled it though.

And Daniel Vogel felt like a rehash of Brian Moser, aka ITK. I mean, they are really similar in a lot of ways in terms of their presentation and their connection to Dexter. One is a real brother and the other is sort of a brother by proxy.

I guess it can be seen from two sides.

I feel like if they didn't kill of someone very important to Dex, they couldn't end it. Dexter would have moved away, but it wouldn't have concluded anything.
